ADNOC to Support the NMC’s ‘Walk to Give’ Initiative
The ‘Walk to Give’, which will take place in Abu Dhabi, on Friday, March 17, will consist of a 5km walk from Zayed Sports City to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and back, followed by a variety of activities and engagements for the participants and their families.
Rashid Al Zaabi, Unit Manager, Protocol and Logistics at ADNOC said: “We are proud to support the NMC’s ‘Walk to Give’, which is in line with ADNOC’s commitment to the Year of Giving. The walk will reinforce the important role everyone across the community can play in contributing to the Year of Giving and raise awareness about the values of giving, volunteering and social responsibility.
“The decision to place the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque at the centre of the walk, honours the memory of the UAE’s first President and Father of the Nation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who devoted his life to the service of his people and the creation of a better world.”
The ‘Walk to Give’ targets all media professionals in the UAE, including employees of UAE-based media outlets, correspondents from international media, social media influencers, employees in government communication offices, public relations and advertising agencies, the publishing sector, and anyone licensed by the National Media Council – in addition to students in communications and media faculties in universities around the UAE.
Last December, UAE President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared that 2017 would be the ‘Year of Giving’ to promote the spirit of volunteerism and specialized voluntary programs in all segments of society, strengthen social responsibility in the private sector with the aim of encouraging its role in serving the country and contributing to its development and to strengthen the concept of national service in young people.
ADNOC joins UAE telecoms provider Etisalat and the UAE Red Crescent as supporters of the ‘Walk to Give’.
